A second suspect has been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police in connection with the gruesome murder of a Community Health Nurse at Sewua, in the Ashanti Region.
The latest suspect was arrested yesterday by the Police, who have since kept his identity too secret.
This arrest follows the earlier arrest of a suspect whose phone had been found at the place where the lifeless body of the victim had been discovered a day later after the gruesome murder which is suspected to have been committed after raping her.
Further information that has become available is that Ruth Eshun Arhin, 33, was on her way home after going on an anti-rabies campaign in the community when her assailants overtook her.
The mother of three is said to have gone to work on February 3 and failed to return home, only for her lifeless body to be discovered the next day, February 4.
There since have been conflicting reports about the state of the body at the time that it was discovered, with one version holding that the body had borne marks of assault, depicting that she had struggled with her assailant. A second version of the report, which is said to have come from a family member, however holds that there had been no signs of struggle when the body was discovered.
However, it appears the two versions agree that when the victim’s body was found, her panties had been pulled down suggesting that she had been raped before being murdered.
The Police have since deposited the body to a morgue as investigation opened into the matter.
Meanwhile, her grief-stricken husband, Kwadwo Arhin, is demanding swift investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators.
