Whatsup News has intercepted a list of military personnel reportedly part of the infamous “Kitchen Knife” Coup d’état against President Akufo Addo and his administration.
The list intercepted by Whatsup News shows one female officer and nine other male officers.
The names of the officers include Warrant Officer Esther Saan (aka Mama G), Lieutenant Corporal Slyvester Akanpewon, Corporal Zakaria Waheed, Sergeant Awarf Sule, LAC Ibrahim Baba, LAC Abubakar Saddique.
Others are Sergeant Nangtona Jones, LAC Nii Ankrah, Corporal Nazine, and Lieutenant Corporal Kenkene Solomon. These are names intercepted by Whatsup News as we try to seek confirmation as at press time.
Deep throat sources tell Whatsup News that these military suspects are currently in various military Guardrooms at the Teshie army barracks and at Burma Camp.
This names have popped up after the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, confirmed that a number of suspects, including military officers will increase from the three persons currently in security custody for attempting a coup plot to destabilise the country.
“The indication I have is that there is a very high possibility [about the number increasing] because, as I mentioned, some military persons are being interrogated and when they are done with that interrogation, those who are to be included in this list will also be arraigned before the court. I think we can draw an inference from that to expect some more persons to be arraigned,” Oppong-Nkrumah told Citi FM today.
Three civilian suspects have so far been charged with conspiracy to manufacture arms and ammunition without lawful authority. The three include: Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, Ezor Kafui and Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu who were arraigned before a District Court on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.
On Monday, September 23, 2019, the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah issued an alarming statement claiming that security agencies have foiled an attempted coup d’état against the Presidency and President Akufo Addo.
The Minister went ahead narrating how state spies have tracked the culprits for over 15 months, uncovering plots to recruit military officers and stashing locally manufactured guns and queer weapons such as a kitchen knife.
When the weapons and the suspects were busted at a Citadel Hospital in Alajo-Accra, officers recovered a Kitchen Knife, locally manufactured guns, a few AK 47 magazines and about four canisters of smoke grenades. These weapons have sparked a social media parody as netizens mock the capacity of the recovered weapons to cause any damage to the Presidency.
Interestingly, the suspects in such a high treason crime were sent to a District Court and only charged with about four charges that bordered mostly on illegal possession of weapons and ammunition. No charge of treason was issued. This has forced the magistrate of the Kaneshie District Court, Ms Rosemond Dodua Agyiri to slam state prosecutors for bringing the suspects with charges beyond the court’s jurisdiction.
The lawyer for the three civilians, Victor Adawudu, has explained on several platforms that his clients have denied knowledge of any such plot, saying they
knew nothing about the weapons found after a raid at the Citadel Hospital last Friday.
