Amidu Locked Out Of Office

The Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu was on Tuesday suffered the latest in a series of bad luck as he was forced to work from his secretary’s office because the security door to his office had jammed locked.

Information indicates that all attempts to open his office failed as he comes under increasing criticisms of having failed the much-anticipated hunting of corrupt public officials.

Martin Amidu in an interview monitored by Whatsup News said that there is a problem with the current building but he is looking forward to moving to a new office that President Akufo-Addo has made available to his Office.

“I don’t know where that type of security doors were gotten from. You don’t know how they were put up. You don’t know who put them up. You don’t know the security nature of it. Fortunately, the secretary is not in so I chose to come here because I have a meeting with some people…There is a problem with the whole of this building,” Martin Amidu said.

“Fortunately the president has instructed that a 10-storey accommodation be given to us. There are defects there which are being corrected. That is what is delaying,” he added.

Mr. Amidu had had several reasons to complain about how his office was being deliberately starved of much-needed resources to operate. According to him, he has been promised a functional office, but that may not materialise anytime soon.

“I am just sitting here hoping that they will call those who originally are responsible for putting up this building to come and look at what is happening to this building. It is not the first time this is happening. Several people have visited me including ambassadors and when they are about to go out, they cannot open from inside we have to call someone to open from outside,” he told Accra-based Citi FM..
