Official Praise-singers Ordered For Prez Akufo Addo

President Akufo Addo’s recent tour of the Jaman North District in the Bono Region was characterised by an officially sanctioned league of praise-singers lined the streets to welcome him.

Whatsup News has intercepted a letter written by the District Director of Education communicating an order by the Bono Regional Director for the district to rent a crowd and arm them with glowing placards extolling the virtues of the visiting President.

The placards were written with phrases that were pre-authorised by the government and the Regional Directorate of Education.

Some of the placards read: “Free SHS Waves You”; “One Hot Meal for Day Students”; “We appreciate your policies”; “Nana Nie, Alawa Nie”, among several others.  In total, 16 different messages were approved for the rented placard-wielding crowd.

“As part of the programme to commemorate his [President Akufo Addo’s] visit, the Regional Director of Education has commissioned the Directorate to forward approved messages to be displayed on placards. This is to project the achievements and policies of the government,” read the order letter issued to all education directorates in the Jaman North District. The letter was signed by Liman Yakubu for the District Director.

To ensure this order was carried out, the District Chief Executive of Jaman North district was copied. This latest stunt gives a whole new meaning to how crowds welcome Ghanaian presidents during official tours across the country. It is unclear how much was spent on this public relations stunt.
